While not digging back far enough to house's earliest roots, for those who want to hear the tunes that have made dance music what it is today, this box set is still a good place to start. Classic deep vocal tracks from house music's original stars like Carl Craig, George Morel, Joi Cardwell, Mr. Roy, Inner City, and Loleatta Holloway are included, as well as later massive crossover house hits from artists like Duke, the Outhere Brothers, Klubbheads, Bass Bumpers, and Nightwalkers. There really are more classic tracks here than we can highlight, plus of course the inevitable few filler tracks that we wouldn't quite consider classics ourselves. Still, pick this up and get ready to begin your class in House History 101!
