The story of how this 'Glow Stick People for Dummies' costume kit got invented will make you smile! This item is handmade for us by a little grandmother in Indiana who approached us about carrying her creation. Granny originally came up with the idea for this kit so her grandkids and family could dress up as an entire 'stick people' family for Halloween. Well, this super-cool granny realized our customers would probably be really into a costume like this, so she decided to be an entrepreneur and start making them for us!

The Glow Stick People for Dummies Kit contains various adjustable, reusable, and machine washable elastic straps, loops, and hooks that slide over your arms, torso, legs, and head. Each piece contains sewn-in loops to attach glow necklaces or glow bracelets (sold separately) to create the stick people effect. Especially cool is that the head piece is completely separate from the body portion of the costume, and you can remove it and hold it apart from the body. In the dark, this looks like a headless stick figure and is a very neat effect!

When worn, the costume is surprisingly comfortable and flexible. As Granny put it to us: "You can even sit on the toilet with the costume still on!" You can bend over, cross your legs, lay down, dance, or pretty much move around normally with the costume on.

Another aspect of the costume is the glowsticks emit enough light for the person wearing it to see several feet in front of them, even in a pitch black environment.

The kit is available in 4 sizes. There is a fair amount of adjustability due to the elastic components so each size has a very versatile range. Here is how Granny says you determine the size you need:
CHILD: Designed for young kids from 4-10 years old.
YOUTH/SMALL ADULT: For under 5 ft. height, and bicep size from 6-14 inches.
MEDIUM ADULT: For 5' to 5'8" height, and bicep size from 9-16 inches.
LARGE/XL ADULT: For 5'9" height and up, and bicep size over 16 inches. If you are not sure of the size to get, the bicep size is the most important measurement to go by rather than height size, which is far more flexible.

This kit does NOT come with glow sticks. Use either glow necklaces or glow bracelets. Fresh glow sticks will have to be used each time you reuse the costume. To determine the approx. total length of glow sticks needed for your costume, measure from your shoulder to your ankle and multiply by three.

Granny suggests you wear dark clothing for the best 'glow stick people' effect close-up (at distances over 10 feet, the clothing color is not an issue). The costume works just as well with t-shirts and shorts as with thicker cool-weather clothing, as the elastic bands can expand or contract several inches. Granny also strongly recommends using a hot glue gun in the disposable connectors that come with all glow necklaces/bracelets if you are going to be moving around a lot in your costume, as the push-in connectors are not enough to hold the costume together. Please note you will need to put on the costume right when you are about to use it, as the glowsticks must be cracked prior to assembling the costume.
